Do u mean metallurgy engineering or metallurgical engineering, if what u meant is the former then there re few prospects presently;this is due to the fact that we don't do much of mineral exploration n mining presently, but if u combine the course with materials engineering then the future is definitely bright cos a material/metallurgical engineer has a greater chance of securing a job when compared to a metallurgical engineer.
