It came to me softly, but yet forcefully
the words of jesus as recorded in the bible

It said:
"you do not light a lamp and keep it under a bed...nope
you light the lamp and put it atop a hill so that all men might see and give glory to your father in heaven"

this was not the first time i was encountering this verse.
In my sunbeam children church class, we were taught that it means that we should do good

bUt this time, it seeped into me differntly
it was as Jesus telling me:

"You're my lamp. the way that you can be of value to me is if i push you out unto the public. Then, will my light in you be conspicous for all men to see and bring glory to me
....Yep, your'e extremely imperfect, but that's the best place to start for better effect"

I meditated on this for a while, and then decided to do as I was asked...timidly with warts, moles and all.

And yes, I put myself atop the hill and waited for him to light me up
as the storms of life ravished me and sought to put me down
my spirit man became even more stubborn
and more ambitious
i no longer wanted hills, ....i wanted mountains

He did light me up ..just at the nick of time
he redefined my story beyond what i even imagined

With quivering fingers, I type this
"Thanks my big brother and friend, ...when do we hit the next mountain?"

He whispers:
"Patience, young man. Catch your breadth. The wind will fetch you at the appropriate time.
...........we've got loads of blank pages to fill in your book of life"
