Six Family Members Killed In Renewed Jos Violence by simpleseyi: 7:44am On Dec 19, 2013 |
There appeared to be no end to the bloodletting in Plateau State as six persons, all members of one family, were on Tuesday hacked to death in a renewed wave of sectarian violence in the state. In the latest incident, the victims were killed in Marraraben Foron village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state. Though the perpetrators have not been identified, our correspondent gathered that the act was carried out by some unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. It was gathered that the victims were about to retire to bed at about 10pm when the messengers of death visited them. The incident has raised tension in the area and the city centre. Heavily armed soldiers and mobile policemen have been deployed in sensitive areas including government buildings and installations. Immediate past chairman of the Management Committee of the Barkin Ladi Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Loman, who confirmed the incident, described it as very unfortunate. He said, “This pattern of killing and wiping out of families has continued and nobody appeared to be perturbed. It is very sad that despite all efforts to restore peace to this area, we have continued to have these incessant and insensitive killings.” Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Special Task Force, Capt. Salisu Mustapha, were unsuccessful as his phone was unavailable. SOURCE: http://www.punchng.com/news/six-family-members-killed-in-renewed-jos-violence/ |

Why do some people claim plateau is a peaceful state? That state is crisis ridden. If I was their Governor, my major aim would be to tighten up security. Damn this is christmas period! Rip, the dead. 2 Likes |

Vessi: Why do some people claim plateau is a peaceful state?no offence... I stay in Jos,and so many pple (myself inclusive) did not hear about anythng like dis... Dis news is misleading... A family was attacked and da news made it look like da whole state is under siege!!! And what city center is da OP talking about?? Go round town and wht u'll see is pple fully kitted cos of da harmattan and da rili cold weather!!... . But saying a whole sectarian violence has thrown da state in2 chaos, jst like it was written up here is way 2 misleading!!! Right now, Jos is calm, very calm! And it is very peaceful and not 'crisis ridden' like u wrote!!! Da last tym we had a serious 'crisis' was in January 2010,so if u dnt knw what u are sayin,I think u should shut da hell up!!! . P.S: if u have a relative in Jos,call dem ryt nw and dey'll tell u nothing is happening!!! RIP to da dead!!! 2 Likes |

A Life is a Life anywhere! Simply Because They Were Killed In Barkin Ladi Doesn't Make It Less Disturbing as were they killed in Jos! The same Sun that Shines in Rayfield, also shines in Mararaban Foron! The Systematic Decimation of the people to provide grazing land for Fulani Cows is the New Jihad! MiddleBelters, Open ur Eyes!
