I must say things are getting more and more interesting in Nigeria health sector. I said it before that NMA would eventually dribbled itself into frying pan. This guys are not intelligent at all. One can see that JOHESU handles issues more brilliantly. NMA has forgotten about Surgeon General what they want now is skipping. Bunch oh confused individuals whose sense of reasoning are beclouded by selfishness
Skipping was actually a product of collective bargaining to make up for Olikoye's wicked circular that gave physicians undue advantage over other health professionals. This is a policy that has been on ground before Enebulele left secondary schl. It was on this premise the the industrial court based its judgement. Skipping for JOHESU has come to stay. Case closed.

My advice to NMA is to focus on how to make their members better practitioners rather than embarking on battle they cannot win. They have by their selfish acts overtime stimulated the consciousness of health professionals and the tide has change. All the cases won by members of JOHESU in the court shall be implemented because govt is duty band to obey the court of law.

I can see a restructuring of health sector in Nigeria after this show of shame by this clueless NMA.

Although NP (nurse practitioners) are allowed to see cases, most states in US requires a doctor to co-sign their prescriptions (you understand what that implies). Also they are expected to consult doctors and specialist when necessary. Clients are even advised to ask their doctors if their case can be handled by an NP.
NP are lower in the peaking order than Doctors. Its just the way the training and level of competence is.

I have read almost all comments here but this one compels a comment off me. Let me start by saying I am not in the medical proffession. However I see the the very baine of most proffessional careers in your claim on profficiency. I will liken it to draughtsmen calling themselves Architects, bricklayers/mechanics/electrician calling themselves engineers..... the list is endless. The result is the colosal damage to everything they touch.
Please miriamP, stick to your proffession and be content with who you are. It is human lives you are dealing with. Leave the Doctors to do their job.
