Aside trading with the trend, I set a counter pending order to catch quick pips with the brief spikes.

True, I had wanted to ask whether other traders experience same thing. Whenever I place trade, the market reacts to it by moving against me. Some times I wonder if it is my trade that determines market direction.

Bought DJIA again

FOR THE NEWBIES. Trading is not that complicated but we make it complicated. Believing you can make millions in a short space of time is a recipe for disaster. Also, the need to try and prove that you know price or you have somehow figured out the market will only put you in a world of hurt. A lot of traders don't just understand that simply following price will make you rich in the long run. A simple strategy of a 50 and 100 simple moving average cross over, using no more that 5 percent of your capital, will make you unbelievable profits if done consistently over a long period of time. Act like you are a slave and price is the master. If it says it's going up you follow it up; if it says it's going down, you follow it down. It it says "you know what? i'm going to range around for one week and not go anywhere, you range with it until it decides to go wherever it want's to go. I have this buddy trader who is in a league of his own. He trend trades. One time he did like 10 trades with multiple contracts and all where losses. Each loss was about $1300. Guess what, eventually he hit a "HOME RUN". (google home run in trend trading to know what it means). The home run covered his losses and then some. One good trend will pay for all your losses. I will leave you with a song by Ed Seykota, one of the greatest trend traders of all time. I hope you understand the message.
