About 70% of the earth is covered in water. Where did it come from?

There was great flood. There are more than 600 tribes of the world with the flood story including yoruba. There archrilogical facts too. There are biological facts too( i am not talking about evolutuon but devolution). I am not going to employ theology at all here.

An argument skeptics have against the worldwide flood is that there is not enough water on earth to cover the highest mountains. They forget that mountains were not the height they are now, and that the earth and the sky store trillions of tons of water. The Bible says that the flood waters came from both the sky and the earth:

"…all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened" (Genesis 7:11).

LMaoooo !!

Showing that the earth holds 70% water is not the proof, rather that such volume was sufficient to submerge the entire earth to the level of the highest mountains.

It is highly probable that there was a great flood. I don't think there is much dispute when it comes to that. There are thousands of floods happening the world all over right now so its not entirely improbable. What I think people dispute is that the flood wiped out everything on earth and the only people and animal that survive were in noahs ark. Now that is where the argument lies

"…all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened" (Genesis 7:11).

7:11 fountains of the great deep.

The physical cause of the Flood is clearly identified as the eruption of the waters in the "great deep" and the opening of the floodgates of heaven. These are quite sufficient in themselves to cause and explain all the phenomena of the Flood. The antediluvian hydrologic cycle was apparently controlled by a system of subterranean pressurized reservoirs and conduits, but these fountains were all cleaved open in one day, releasing tremendous quantities of water and magma to the earth’s surface and dust and gas into the atmosphere. The resulting combination of atmospheric turbulence and dust nuclei of condensation was probably the immediate cause of the precipitation of the vapour canopy. The cataclysmic restoration of the primeval deep that resulted left the antediluvian world completely devastated and inundated. - The Defenders study Bible
