As president to preserve the grandure and efficacy of your office and influence on others, you have to pick your fights carefully. Fights you know, you can win. Pres. Jonathan in asking for mr sanusi lamido's resignation did a massive miscalculation. It makes one wonder what his advisers are there for.

You do not need a rocket scientist to tell you that sanusi lamido sanusi will not resign the governorship of the central bank five months to the end of his term. Five months to the end of a very consequential governorship. A term that saw the most radical shake up of the nigerian banking sector ever. Five months to the end of a term that made sanusi lamido appear on the time's most influential people's list. Everybody will agree that sanusi lamido's term has been really monumental, the man impacted his nation and in doing so stepped on many toes. Who can forget when the national assembly almost lynched him for saying they consume 25% of the national budget. Sanusi lamido ushed nigeria's economy into a new era and got international recognition and awards for it.

And after that consequential term as governor of the central bank and only five months to go, the president asks sanusi to resign. Sanusi will never do that. Doing that will be catastrophic for him. It will be the equivalent of sanusi leaving office on crawling rather than with heads held high. The manner in which he lives office will evicirate his record and affect his future endervors. You do not expect a man who has built a sterling career in banking from the private to public sector to live office in disgrace because of a petty and unproven letter leaking allegation. The president whatever his feeling should have endured 5 months for sanusi to go and then pick whoever he wants to succeed him. But he picked a fight he won't wins as sanusi will never leave office crawling after his great service, rather, with head held high.

Sometime I think that Jonathan’s advisers are actually working for the opposition. At every turn they give him so much bad advice that I think they are working for his enemies. His decisions are so loaded with very naive and expensive mistakes.

How can you tell a distinguished, international, and famous banker to resign over a letter which leakage you cannot evidently trace back to him?

Where is the proof that Sanusi leaked the letter to Obasanjo? A letter that was sent in September and has been lying around for months with no action taken on it, not until Obasanjo mentioned it in his letter.

It is interesting that:

• Stella Oduah who arrogantly ignored due process to obtain cars worth N255 Million can keep her job.
• Stella Oduah whose academic record is dubious can keep her job
• Alamieyeseigha who stole from Bayelsa till the state became dizzy can be pardoned
• Those who are responsible for the missing $49.5 Billion or $10 Billion dollars need not be queried

But the Governor of the Central Bank with few months left to retire can been asked to resign with “immediate effect and automatic alacrity” because of a leaked letter.
