I think I have to agree with aderaskeey. Monetization of blogs is of the essence if we are to make the expected impact globally. Monetize your blog, command greater traffic and you will see the world beat a path to your doorstep. Unfortunately, I do not know how many local companies advertise on nairaland directly without going through google and that shows how we view our local efforts. If this were abroad Seun will spend his waking hours counting money, rather than moderating this site. Believe me. As a website designer, I develop blogs and websites for others but never bothered to set up one for myself until recently. The first I set up and abandoned because of lack of enthusiasm. Reason? I never monetized it. My blogroll had great bloggers that make large sums from their blogs but I never made a dime. This taught me a lesson. Now I just finished setting up a new blog (without adsense yet) and because I have spent the last six months studying ways to monetize and commercialize the blog, I believe this one will come out great cashwise. The blog is on www.gbconcepts.net/blog. I have the basic template up and no posts yet. You can critic it (Please pull no punches). |
