100% agree, the defence is too porous. Keshi was a defender, why does the team still have bad defence.

though you have a point..it's like asking a generator to power a whole city. However, i feel like once Obabonna is fully fit, we'll be much stronger to Face the French.

My question is..do we go with Yobo? (If it ain't broke, don't fix it?) OR go with Obabonna (great ability but just recovering from injury)?

So what you are saying is you use one match where France wasn't being serious to judge their performance. Do you forget what they did to Switzerland and Honduras?

Honduras was a man down..i didn't watch the swiss game so i dunno why they lost 5-2

France played against 10 men in two out of their three group games.

Against Honduras, they only started scoring when honduras was down to 10 men in the first half, also against ecuador who played with 10 men for over 40 minutes, france could not find the back of the net.

France is a more favourable opponent for Nigeria than switzerland, not because switzerland is a better team than france, but beause France system of play will give us more space to operate and play our game than switzerland will give us.

Argentina plays better than France off of what basis? Argentina had a tough time in the group stage, France did not. Argentina is overrated

france though not overrated, are beatable. I realized nigeria plays best when we counter attack..thats why we got 0-0 against iran but got good results against bosnia and argentina.

i hope france tries to play possession football with us. if they do that, we'll wallop them. I say "wallop" because both their fullbacks like to attack way too much (especially evra). I know cos im a man utd fan wink

Prediction: Nigeria will win be one goal, or in PK shootout

Yes, on papers the odds favours the french national side.
pls, recall that football is not mathematics where we solve and get definite answers.
Hence, it is like biscuit you never know where it might break.
So, give our team the benefit of doubts.

To be frank,Nigeria is now with a heavy load for Africa. All africa countries want Nigeria to be in quarter final. Can they? I dont know, but I pray Nigeria to win.
Now world powers are playing, but I still feel that Sep Blatter want Brasil or swiss to win. Thats exactly what he is planning.
He may use his referees to do the job.

I only hope we dont repeat the devastating whooping of 98 at this same stage.

I think that we can beat this French team...after all Henry, Zidane or desailley are not walking thru the door

Sorry Nigeria defence is just patching with Yobo

The if ain't broke don't fix it line does not apply here

Once Oboabona is fit he should come back straight into the team

Joseph Yobo has had his 100 caps, now we are in the knock out stages let's play our best legs in defence!

I have not seen Yobo at any point organising his defence like a veteran, it is instead the young Omeruo who is showing leadership at the back!
