Generals02: Of course, they're not. NFF can't do anything. It's not on FIFA's calendar. |

joseph1013:Awoniyi needs to cultivate the habit of taking extra hours outside the team training to do some shooting practice and skill development. If he is to make it as a top finisher, he has to train. If he does some skill training, he will take his time to finish. |

Izu Omeego: I'm Now Doing Fine Flying Eagles defender, Prince Izu Omeego, has told SL10.ng that he is now doing fine, following his injury against Kano Pillars. His injury caused a scare on match day two at the invitational Pre-season tournament organized by the LMC, the Manu Garba's boys won 2-1 against the NPFL champions, Kano Pillars but the incident that saw Izu. Omeego still at a point scared the fans watching from the stands. The Flying Eagles defender said he is now doing fine but doubt if he'll play any part in the invitational Pre-season tournament where his team mates have defeated NPFL club side, Warri Wolves by a lone goal on Wednesday. "I'm now doing fine," Izu told SL10.ng "When the incident occurred I didn't notice anything but at some point I began to noticed people around me but I thank God all is well." The Flying Eagles have made it three wins in three at the pre-season tournament. The U20s who will be representing Nigeria at the Africa Youth Championship (AYC) in Senegal with a target to secure a World Cup ticket won 2-0 over the 2014 Federation Cup champions, Enyimba FC, next was the NPFL champions who have won the league thrice in a row, Masu Gida lost 2-1 to the U/20s while Warri Wolves who will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup lost by a lone goal to the U/20s. 2 Likes |

Garba: My Players Are Reaching Burn Out Flying Eagles coach, Manu Garba has admitted that his players are gradually burning out after playing three games in five days at the ongoing Super 6 tournament in Abuja. The Nigerian U20’s play one of Nigeria’s representatives in the 2015 CAF Confederations Cup, Dolphins on Friday in one of the penultimate games of the mini-tournament, having already downed league Champions, Kano Pillars, Federations Cup champions, Enyimba and the country’s other CAF Confederations Cup representative, Warri Wolves. But ahead of the clash with Dolphins, Manu has offered some excuse by saying his players are getting burned out because of the games’ schedule. “I think fatigue is gradually setting in because we only have one day in between to rest but it takes at least 48 hours for the body to recover after a game. “It showed in our game against Warri Wolves because we were not as fast as we normally are, but we have to keep going,” Manu told sl10.ng. When asked if he would be making wholesale changes to his team against Dolphins, Manu replied in the negative, saying he cannot make more than four changes to his team. “We made four changes before the game against Warri Wolves and maybe we’ll make some changes before the game against Dolphins but making more than four changes is risky,” he said. The Flying Eagles currently top the log with nine points from three games, and will face their national U23 counterparts in the grand finale on Sunday. |

NFF Proud Of U20s and U23s At Super 6 Director of competitions at the Nigeria Football Federation, Mohamed Sanusi says the NFF are so far impressed with the performances of the national teams involved in the ongoing Super 6 tournament in Abuja. The national U23 team – the Dream Team VI; and the national U20 team – the Flying Eagles are both featuring in the mini-tournament and have had impressive s=outings thus far, with the Flying Eagles being the most impressive with three wins from three. Both teams are scheduled to meet in the grand finale on Sunday, and Sanusi says they couldn’t be prouder. “We are very proud of our teams in the Super 6, as they have done well thus far in the competition, especially the Flying Eagles. “It’s not easy playing against the top teams in the country but so far both the U23 and the U20 teams have shown they are capable and hopefully one of them will win it,” he says. The Dream Team have won two and drew one of their first three games, while the Flying Eagles have a 100% record, winning all of their three games. But Sanusi, however, says the most important thing is for the players to get into a competitive mode ahead of the events. “In as much as we want them to win, the most important thing is to get the teams prepared for their events as the U23 will play qualifiers for the All Africa Games and the U20 will play at the Africa Youth Championship.” |

Yes they need to be clinical. Finishing is still a concern. Awoniyi, Eze ,Adeniyi, and Muhammed are all guilty of poor finishing. Freekicks are game changers, they need to master how to bend or curl the ball very well. Sad day for Dolphins FC. Positional awareness was very poor. Better learn fast from Warri Wolves. Great tournament no doubts. brought out lot of flaws of the teams. Kudos to the organizers. 1 Like |
