Eagles Train As Nigerian Government Approves Bonus Payment by Nobody: 12:24pm On Jun 28, 2014

Nigeria resumed training on Friday just as the country's President Goodluck Jonathan approved $3.805 million as appearance fee for the Super Eagles at the 2014 World Cup.

And the country’s senate president has headed back to Brazil as head of a high-powered government delegation.

Jonathan's approval is sequel to the protest of the players on Thursday after they boycotted training to press home their demand for a bonus payment  and drew huge media attention.

Top source in the Presidency informed AfricanFootball.com:"The President spoke with the team on Thursday assuring them that the money would be paid them."

Senate President David Mark is expected to head out to Brazil today leading a Presidential delegation.

Mark watched the team’s goalless draw with Iran before heading back to Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles have since resumed training ahead of Monday’s round of 16 game against France hours after they arrived the Brazilian capital city of Brasilia.

All the 23 players and technical officials led by Stephen Keshi were on the flight that landed at 4:07pm local time, which is 8:07 Nigerian time.

After light refreshment the team zoomed off to training to do the catching up on missed time ahead of the important clash.

Also on the flight with the Eagles was NFF vice-president, Mike Umeh and Shehu Dikko.

Following the controversy over the team’s training schedule on Thursday, the team immediately checked into their abode at the serene Plaza Brasilia, which is a stone throw away from where the French side are quartered.

I knew they'd come up with funny attitude since the Ghanaian Govt's cash stunt. Meanwhile, read what Ex england strike Emile Heskey has to say about Nigeria and Ahmed Musa. Read it here: http://www..com/heskey-nigerias-musa-is-at-home-on-world-stage/

Whether they train or not, they are playing their final game against France and they will be out of the tournament. They have done well by coming out of the group stage but we can't hide from the fact that our defence is porous and our midfield is not functional because of lack of creativity.
#Thanks Super Eagles
For making Nigeria and Africa proud!

Footballers (who earn a lot more money than the average nigerian) complain about bonuses and it gets approved by the Government. Meanwhile students at LASU and OAU universities complain about high school fees, teachers complain about low salaries and the Govt isn't interested in their plight. sad
