Afternoon,

Thanks for the enlightenment on NHIS. I work with a private company in Ado-Ekiti, I believe, I can still register for and benefit from NHIS. Please which plan is available for people like me and where is their office so I can make enquiries. Thanks

@ Gboliwe, pls how many months will it take for one to change hospital?

My sister's nhis is with a private hospital. I think the hospital is out for business, anything is referral, once they will not make much profit from it.

Even fibroid operation, they referred her to a Government hospital, that they will not make any gain from it. The fibroid surgery is #350,000 in their hospital.

She is tired of their referral issues and wants to change to Government hospital before she does the surgery.

They are doing the right thing, the hospital I mean. If a facility is not accredited for secondary care and they don't refer the enrollee that needs that level of care and we find out, we sanction them and heavily too. Referrals shouldn't make anybody change a facility.

Good morning. I am registered under NHIS with a private hospital. Recently the hospital came up with a policy that pregnant women under NHIS cannot see their gynaecologist during antenatal. Instead they are seen by a general practitioner. While their private patients see the gynaecologist and are given preferential treatment.

Pls is this permitted by NHIS?

What I see now is that NHIS patients are treated as persons begging for healthcare.

Go to NHIS office nearest to you for the procedure. You can also register her in a private health plan. The choice of hospital rests on the owner of the plan. If she wants to use an alternative HCP, its good

It depends on agreement. Like, how much premium did you pay? Did you buy a family or individual package?

probable the online list has not been updated since the Hosp has a code, they are mostly likely newly accredited. my advice is for u to go to any NHIS office closest to u to make the change

if you are already under the NHIS formal sector plan u can add your child with his/her current passport photograph(both eye should be open), your NHIS card, print out or number and the sum of 500 which you will pay in a bank.
go to any NHIS office closest to you with the requirements and it will be done
