Cool!! BUT the main issue is MAINTENANCE - won't be surprised to see it fall apart a year after construction due to our VERY poor maintenance culture....... NOT IN AKWA IBOM.........OUR WHITE SHIRTS LAST FOREVER WHITE........ |

This is london in Nigeria. Do we have a Governor in Kaduna State which used to be known and called " the capital of Northern Nigeria"? |

So much developments going on in Akwa Ibom State. Kudos to the amiable governor. Unlike most of the governors who are merely political jobbers. At least, we know our leaders who have the interest of the people at heart. |

E.M.Ezzy:difference is Olympic size stad has track by the side + complex for other sporting activities apart from football. For instance, The craven Cottage (home ground of Fulham FC) is only a football stadium and not Olympic stad cos its doesn't have the afore-mentioned. Hope u grab. **sips Kunu** |

naijaboylive: Its a beautiful project.. But the only way this would generate any income for Akwa Ibom state is when Helen Upkabio and Uma Upkai start using it for Prayer ground and crusade. |

Fashola is averrated. Akpabio is arguably the best performing governor in Nigeria. |
Re: New Pictures Of Akwa Ibom Stadium (2014) by MadCow1: 3:26pm On Jul 04, 2014 |
sage_: Fashola is averrated. If you think Fashola is over-rated, try and compare the cost of building 1 road on the Island and the cost of building same road in Uyo. Fashola is a man trying to solve a maths Problem on a board where so many people have already written on, Apkabio is working on a clean slate and has so much room to do whatever he likes. Please dont compare both states at all, Akwa Ibom can barely boast of a proper city/town, Lagos barely have any villages that have not been overrun by urbanization. 1 Like |

papa ejima: Another disappointment. Is it compulsory to have tartan tracks round the football pitch? When will they realize that football stadiums these days do not have tartan tracks so as to give the fans a more pleasant viewing? Try watching a football match in Nigeria and sit behind one of the goal posts and you will never go to the stadium again. It is no coincidence that the Enyimba Stadium in Aba and the Kano Pillars Stadium in Kano do not have tartan tracks round the pitch and they attract the largest crowds in the league. Its a sports stadium not just a soccer stadium 1 Like |

You can imagine if just 10 more, just 10 more governors out of 35 could build such an edifice (in just 2 years) in addition to tne National stadium in Abuja. Folks are we not ready to host the world cup, yes or no at very little cost to the Federal government. The amount of money they have spent on globetrotting in search for foreign investors could have easily laid this down in their states. I'm sure Julius Berger who built this will have advertised Akwa Ibom internationally by now. No tale will ever beat a single picture. 1 Like |

Mad Cow: This is Vincent Enyeama Stadium as he is the biggest sports entity in Akwa Ibom state after that Russian Klitchko and some Mopols in Abuja beat the shiit out of Samuel Peters. Get a life 3 Likes |
