Delegate Suggests Name Change For Nigeria by Nobody: 5:08pm On Jul 04, 2014
Abuja - A delegate at the ongoing National
Conference, Mike Ozekhome, has suggested that the name Nigeria should be changed to
‘Airegin’, Tribune reports.

Ozekhome said name Nigeria was given to the country by Lady Flora Shaw who later became Lady Lugard, was a colonial imposition which must be corrected.

He also suggested that the old flag that was designed by Taiwo Akinkumi with the rising sun on it and the old national anthem be re-
introduced.
