Why Does God Testlifeless Planets Withgiant Naturaldisasters? by iamord(m): 5:25pm On Jul 08, 2014
I saw this article online , I found it interesting and though I should share. I am not an atheist in any way but I believe there is a lot we could pick out from this passage that we over here should stop always attributing disasters to Gods, spirits, the devil, mami water etc.. Rather we need to study this phenomenons

The common response by religious
leaders to questions of why God
allows disasters on Earth is that it is
a test. But why are there such
events everywhere?

Religious leaders have been
claiming that natural disasters on
Earth are God's, or gods',
punishment since the start of
recorded organised religion, but
that was before it was accepted
that our planet is not flat, and the
skies are not static.
However, even though we can now
see deep into the 'heavens',
religious leaders still blame Earth's
disasters on humanity's lack of
religious faith and submission to
their orders, and claim that it is God
testing us; this was emphasised
time and again all over the world in
Mark Dowd's investigation for the
television documentary, Tsunami:
Where Was God?
This article cites some recent cases
of religious leaders blaming
humanity for natural disasters,
followed by an example of religion
suppressing scientific knowledge. It
ends by using examples of 'natural
disasters' in uninhabited space to
argue that 'human morality', as
defined by religion, is not to blame
for natural disasters.
Examples of Religious Leaders
Claiming Disasters are God's
Wrath
In 2010, the eruption of the
Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland
was blamed on the government's
tolerance of neo-pagans and gay
rights activists by the Association of
Russian Orthodox Experts
(news.change.org/stories/finally-
someone-blames-icelands-volcano-
on-gay-rights).
Omar Sacirbey also cited the above
example, and wrote that it had
been going on for centuries. He
also provided other examples on
the Salt Lake Tribune website
Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam
Kazem Sedighi recently told his
Shiite Muslim followers that
immodestly dressed and
promiscuous women are to blame
for earthquakes.
In February, Rabbi Yehuda
Levin of the Rabbinical Alliance of
America warned that allowing
gays in the military could cause
natural disasters to strike
America.
In Australia, the Central
Telegraph newspaperquoted
President Dr Daniel Nalliah of the
'Catch the Fire Ministeries' as
blaming the 2010/2011 floods on
Prime Minister Julia Gillard for
being an atheist.
Religion Has Tried to Stop
Mass Progress and Knowledge
When Galileo attempted to revise
scientific belief by proposing that
our planet wasn't at the centre of
creation he was censored and
persecuted.
Religious leaders were more
interested in preserving their view
of creation, and tried to hide a
contradictory theory that might
educate their followers, but also
jeopardise their authority and
power.
Do Earth-like Space Events
Prove God Doesn't Inflict
Disasters on Humanity?
Stephen Hawking has lectured on
this topic, and considers that: "In
ancient times, the world must have
seemed pretty arbitrary. Disasters
such as floods or diseases must
have seemed to happen without
warning, or apparent reason...the
only hope was to win favour by gifts
or actions. Many people still
partially subscribe to this belief,
and try to make a pact with
fortune..."
Hawking is a confirmed atheist, and
also one of the leading
astrophysicists in the world. Thanks
to people such as him, we are
discovering that 'natural disasters'
are common in the universe. They
occur all the time on planets and
stars that are uninhabited. So who
is God punishing there?
Examples of Natural Disasters
in Space: Mars
It is thought that there are more
stars and planets in the universe
than there are granules of sand on
all the beaches on our planet, and
many have been formed and
destroyed on a much grander scale
than anything on Earth. Who was
God punishing?
If there is a God, who's first concern
is humanity on Earth, then why did
it give Mars the biggest volcano,
with Olympic Mons three times as
high as Everest, and why did it use
up all its eruptions before humanity
found it. And who did the wrath of
Olympic Mons punish while it was
active; or the drying of Mars to its
present apparently lifeless state?
While Mars is now quiet, there are
still 'natural disasters' occurring on
other planets in our solar system all
the time.
Examples of Natural Disasters
in Space: Jupiter and Saturn
In 2010, NASA reported that Jupiter
lost one of its two distinguishing
cloud bands, known as the South
Equatorial Belt (SEB), which are
twice as wide as Earth and more
than twenty times as long. It is
thought that storms on the planet
obscured the giant belt.
Meanwhile, Saturn had a massive
storm of its own going on, with
NASA data showing: 'a large,
turbulent storm, dredging up loads
of material from the deep
atmosphere and covering an area
at least five times larger than the
biggest blizzard in this year's
Washington, D.C.-area storm front
nicknamed "Snowmageddon."'
There is not thought to be any
history of immoral life that would
anger God on Mars, Jupiter and
Saturn.

You will have an answer when you can prove from the bible that God is responsible for every Natural disaster and he uses them to test Mankind.
