• Be ready to back out of lunches with your friends especially if the lunch habit is to visit unhealthy restaurants.
• While walking, listen to music to pass the time by. Invest in a small mp3 player and load it with a collection of work out music that inspires you.
• Don't buy expensive pills to lose fat. It's a waste of money. You can do it without them.
• Avoid sodas. Drink green tea sweetened with stevia and avoid diet beverages sweetened with Nutra-Sweet, Splenda or saccharine.
• Walking up the stairs or across the house does not count as exercise. Get outside and walk a mile or two.
• Cut down on the beer intake.
• Beware of salads. Just because it's a salad doesn't mean it's healthy. People often load salads with dressings, nuts, eggs, cheese, etc. and the salad will have more calories than a fast food burger. If you eat a salad use fresh veggies to top it and use a fat free vinaigrette, a spritz dressing or other low calorie option. Control your serving size.
• Replace potatoes and white rice with brown rice.
