National chairman of the Unity Party of Nigeria, Dr. Fredrick Fasehun on Thursday took a swipe at the alleged impunity being perpetrated by state governors under the All Progressive Congress, APC, in their respective states.

Addressing a press conference in Lagos on the state of the nation, Fasehun, said "It is clear that in all these cases, the APC is on rampage and on a war of attrition against democracy and the common man. Be it in Edo, Adamawa, Lagos, Ekiti or Osun State, APC is behaving like a bull in a China's shop, trampling on citizens' rights and Nigerians must control this party's reign of impunity."

Commenting on the impasse in the Edo State House of Assembly, he said "the Governor's interference in the ongoing leadership tussle in the State House of Assembly is an abuse of the separation of powers doctrine that is the hallmark of democracy worldwide."

Fasehun also faulted the imposition of a levy of #27,000 on commercial bus operators by the Lagos State government describing the policy as a "clear misplacement of priorities."

Others they listed include Imo State Ministry of Community Government, CGC Haulage levy of #2000; Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission ENTRACO for daily heavy duty haulage fee permit #1000.

The rest are Keep Imo Clean daily ticket on infrastructure development for entry and exit tax of #5000; Imo State Ministry of Transport and Aviation fee of #1000; Imo State Ministry of of Agriculture, Petroleum and Environment fee of #2500 among other unreceipted levies/taxes.

What a smart way to deflect attention from the obvious truth in what the man said. Your Baba Iyabo didn't invent the expression.
