Will Any President Pay Ibos N2.4 Tr For A War They Fought And Lost? by Sloan: 2:16pm On Jul 16, 2014
Will any president pay Ibos N2.4 Tr for a war they fought and lost? Can these people be trusted, with even any money that belongs to 170 M+ Nigerians and not try to corner everything for their minority population of 10 - 12 M? Was Germany given a cash repayment or is that example even applicable to Biafra? Or this is about the usual greed for money? Can the economy of their land not provide N2.4 Tr or they figure they must be able to take the money from the oil fields of the Niger Delta and the prosperous lands of the SW and the agricultural lands of the north? War is not a game of play where you eat your cake and have it, get killed and still be alive, abandon Nigeria and still have it, make enemies and still be friends, want to dominate others and still want to be pitied and held as a minority, kill others and do not want to be killed, call others names and want to be held untouchable, want bad leadership in other states but want to keep your own state with good leadership, make tribalistic attacks but still want not to be attacked! I need your comments but sensible ones only! If you are an accursed slave who praises the man who led 3 M to their deaths while running away to Abidjan, your comment is not welcome on this thread!

Of cos not. Instead, ibos should claim their damages from the Ojukwu family whose son led them to a senseless war that was destined to fail from day 1.

You need to read through your post again and again; and yet, again...so as to have an indept insight on answering this particular question:

"As an OP, are these slanderous comments expected of you, who ironically in turn, craves for reasonable comments on this thread"?

Crucify me if you can, but I think this write-up is too biased and unintelligent enough to be riddled with that which you seek not to behold.

I AM NOT in support of paying any sum to anyone; but our arguments should reflect a degree of maturity which this comment of yours lacks in every perspective.

My take.

But they are about to even do more for the Terrorist that just bombed Lagos and has been busy bombing and destroying certain parts of Nigeria, if the recommendation of the Confab scales through the Boko Haram Region will get a certain 5% of the oil revenue for their upkeep and for spending so fix that before you can question Biafra's request for N2.4T

Look at what the joker said , some people are really Brainless and worse than Imbeciles prosperous lands of the SW and the agricultural lands of the north the Joker even had the audacity to descibe a failed region that is on the verge on being over taken by ritualist, rapist, body parts vendors, street urchins and imbeciles as prosperous lands of the SW. no wonder even with no genocide or marginalisation the SW is still worse off than Areas that were flattened during the last civil war , outside lagos and the adjoining communities thave have bounday with Lagos , what really has the SW got besides Ritual forests and marijuana farms. shameless !!!

Even the Igbos themselves knows that no govt will give them penny for a war they started and lost. Not even an Igbos president will give them any kobo.

Man. These ibo folks sure are corrupt. Yahoo boys,419,kidnappers,ritualists,Baby Factories, biafra, erosion, greed, poverty except boko haram, oil bunkering, militancy,Azikiwe and all good things in Nigeria Comes from these People. Old folks say A bird that Calls the rain gets wet. They asked for war and got crushed now they want compensation?? Smh. Japan invaded, raped, killed and looted china without compensating a cockroach,India and afghanistan fought without compensating an ant,the hutu did almost cleaned rwanda of tutsi's and no one's asking for compensation and some thieving israel claiming scoundrels want compensation. Confab should vote For Biafra. Let the ibos have their sovereign nation let's see how long before they go back to cannibalism.

Kettykin, please don't mind the acutely ignorant oaf. He oozes of hate, bias and a deeply embedded virus called tribalism.

He refers to Ibos as "minority", when he is obviously blind to what actually stares at him. Laugh it off bruv...for he knows he is no match!

In fairness to ibos, 2.4T Naira is not commensurate with the number of lives and properties ojuku foolishly wasted.
ibos deserve close to 24T Naira instead of a paltry sum of 2.4T.
since ojuku's properties have not been shared....the best thing is to share them among the ibos.
ibos should not expect anything from Nigeria, a country they took arms against.

I read with utmost interest the story in the above link if true(because a whole lots aren't in Nigeria) would make an interesting intellectual discourse but the thread on which I found it has been taken over by ethnocentric wards. Please I need intellectual contributions here and let me first state my position.
For those who were around then, a whole lots of stories abound on who did what and today, the news is about compensation. I hate war, especially when such is fought on unjust causes but could there ever be justifiocation for war? may be yes or no.For instance is there justification for Israel to attack Gaza when its own children are being kidnapped and murdered and missiles are being sent to its civilian areas, may be yes may be no, the answer depends on your perspective I guess. What about 1948 war and all the following uprising that followed? many questions than answers I guess.
To however have a better perspective on the Nigerian case is to trace the political history of Nigeria. A pre independent Nigeria brought to the fore many shades of differences between the various major groups but something was achieved; a joint independence from Britain! Great wasn't it?
But it came at a price to the nation because those leaders could not come up with acceptable political structure but managed to keep the system together until certain Aguiyi Ironsi unified the whole system and shifted the ancient and his comteporary landmark. What did we have since then? the birth of ethnicity and religion, a demon that was asleep during the time of the fathers. Many groups excused themselves to justify their violence and the result of a long dark years of murder by both sides in a resulting civil war is still being referenced, yeah, we will continue to talk about it.
Every war is borne out of the selfishness of any one person or groups, either the selfishness of an oppressor or that of the prosecutor of the war. The question to me is what was the consensus of those who brought Nigeria together and how were they not able to redress their differences?
I once read an economic view on Nigeria political economy where someone wrote that before oil and gas became Nigeria the largest source of income for Nigeria, the Eastern Region(including South-south today) allied with the North to benefit from the Cocoa and ports income from the Western Region to enjoy their own share and since the oonset of oil and gas there has been a shift of West and North to benefit. Also, watching Aljezera French exploit in Africa, one can at least draw some conclusion that economic gains rather than ethno-religion reasons has impacted the spate of war in Africa though such gains are sighted to profit a few but take a toll on the unguarded majority who are whisped into the army to fight a war that has no immediate or even future glory.
The same is the cae for Nigeria and I wish to state that everyone that had suffered in war should be reparated, including those who's families were drafted into the military, those who lost relatives, those whose towns were destroyed on both sides of the divide, those people whose resources were also used in funding the war because such would have been used to develop some sectors!!
Activities leading to the civil war would conviniently place the blame on both sides and in war, winning is the ultimate thing especially civil war that are often brutal with no riules of engagements.
I support that people should be compensated but its not restricted to those who lost, what about those that borne the burden of victory?
