*as group protests killings in Abuja
BY EMMANUEL ELEBEKE
ABUJA—THE Senate, yesterday, reiterated its commitment and support to the ongoing fight against Boko Haram insurgency in the country.
President of the Senate, Senator David Mark made the promise in Abuja, when the FCT Chapter of the PDP Project Reloaded took its protest against the Boko Haram killings to the National Assembly.
Senator Mark, represented by the Senator Banabas Gemade who decried what he called the wanton killings of Nigerians in the North called on members of the sect to change its approach in making its intentions known by embracing peace and dialogue.
Mark who applauded the security agencies for their doggedness in the fight against the insurgence, said it will continue to support the President and the security personnel in ensuring that peace is restored in all parts of the country.
He said,“We are with you and well as with all Nigerians in the call to an end to wanton killing of innocent Nigerians. Senate is in collaboration with the Executive to ensure that the security agencies are mobilized to deal with the insurgency. We extended State of Emergency in the three states of Borno, Adamawa and Gombe as part of our support to end terrorism and we gave an approval to an appropriation bill on security in our resolve to equip the security personnel in the best way we should to deal with Boko Haram. We will continue to support the President and the security agents because no one can achieve anything by killing people. We will never relent in dealing with the issue decisively.”
Also speaking, Senator Bello Tiku said, “the war against Boko Haram must be won at all cost but requires everybody’s involvement to achieve the goal.’ He called on all Nigerians to rise against Boko Haram and to unite and support federal government and the security agencies to win the war.
Earlier in his speech, the FCT Coordinator, PDP Project Reloaded, Sir Jimmy Ineke, condemned the rising trend of insurgency in the country, especially in the North Eastern part of the country and the FCT.

Ok. Good to know. But at this point the citizens will want to hear 'we have subdued Boko Haram' It all calls for a joint effort from every citizen. This is a common enemy. God help Nigeria
