England captain Steven Gerrard has called time on his 14-year journey with the national team.
The Liverpool skipper, 34, ends his international career as the ‘Three Lions’ third most-capped player with 114 caps, a match behind David Beckham and 11 behind Peter Shilton.
“I have enjoyed every minute of representing my country. It’s a sad day for me,” said Gerrard, who made his debut in a 2-0 win over Ukraine in 2000 before his curtain call came in a goalless draw with Costa Rica at the 2014 World Cup.
“It was a difficult decision to make. It’s something I have been contemplating for a long time, not just since the end of the World Cup.”

He will now take on a “high profile” ambassadorial role with the Football Association.
Gerrard has spent his entire professional career with Liverpool, since making his debut in 1998 against Blackburn.
He will continue with the Anfield club, with whom he has won the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.
Gerrard scored 21 goals and featured in six major tournaments, captaining the side to the 2010 and 2012 World Cup tournaments.click here http://sketchwapz.tk to view source..
