[1] Demand that the Ndigbo nation adopt the "Mandombe" script as the official script of their language. This script could be made into a phonectic alphabet similar to the Korean alphabet Hangol. This would put the Igbo in the club of the select few nations that have their own written language. Ethiopia commands respect from all for this same reason. This is exactly what Mugabe needs to do for Zimbabwe ! [2] Ndigbotize the Bible . The Igbo should have two bibles : One for the outside world and another for himself. This Ndible would be a Machiavellian bible or the Art of war for the Igbo people at home and abroad. Something very similar to the Talmud of the Jews or the Hadith of the Arabs. In this bible the supreme god is called Chukwu and his son is called Asaar/Horus/ Chukuwe not JESUS . The doctrines would be different too: Eye for eye ,blood for blood would be the supreme doctrine .Turn the cheek is for suckers! The Igbo values and laws would be written as religious practices in this holy book. All the names in this book would be Igbo names. Finally ,this book would give the average Igbo person a Spiritual education,a Economic education and a Military education. |

How possible is this, changing a people's language, and expecting those in the diaspora to adopt it? Who will teach them? Where are the teachers to go abroad to teach Igbo people this new language? Who sponsors it. More disturbing is the fact that you want it to be a sign language like that of Korea. I may not know the Korean language, but I'm sure it is like the Chinese logograph. Let's not go too far, the one used by the Efik, I don't remember its name, still remains a secret more than 1000 years. |
