Nigerian troops this morning
continued their onslaught
against members of the Shiite
Islamic sect in Zaria, Kaduna
State, killing three and seriously
wounding ten of them,
according to sources within the
embattled group.
Two Shiite sources told
SaharaReporters that Nigerian
soldiers stormed one of the
sect’s centers called ‘Husainiyyah
Baqiyyatullah’ around 9 a.m. and
killed three persons including
one Sani Sufi, a staff of the
center.
The Shiites accuse the Nigerian
troops of killing 30 of their
members since Friday evening
when soldiers shot at a
procession of Shiites during the
group’s pro-Palestine
demonstration in Zaria.
One of the sources, who sent
photos to SaharaReporters, said,
“The number of people killed by
soldiers has escalated to 30
following another attack by the
Nigerian soldiers at Husainiyyah
Baqiyyatullah in Zaria today
[Saturday July 26].”
“Around 9 a.m. local time today, a
group of soldiers in military
vehicles and armored tanks,
opened fire on people at the
Husainiyyah, killing three people
on the spot while injuring at
least 10,” said the source. He
added: “Prior to today's attack,
the soldiers took two more
corpses to the mortuary of the
[Ahmadu Bello University]
Teaching Hospital. They killed the
two in cold blood after arresting
them well and alive the previous
day and they dumped their
bodies at the mortuary today,
Saturday the 27th of June, 2014.”
A spokesman for the sect said
Nigerian troops were still holding
19 bodies of casualties, adding
that his group was able to
retrieve 11 bodies of those shot
dead yesterday. “The number of
those killed is now 30,” said the
spokesman. He disclosed that
funeral prayers would be held at
5 p.m. (Nigerian time) for the
corpses in the custody of the
Islamic sect.

“However, if the remaining
bodies are retrieved on time,
then the funeral for the martyrs
will be held all together,” said the
source.

It is the height of irresponsibility for soldiers to kill defenseless citizens, on a peaceful procession, presumably on a warped perception that the protesters are up to no good. They did not bear arms, neither did they attack soldiers nor civilians, they were just on a peaceful well-publicized demonstration. If these folks died as a result of exchange of fire with the military, it would be a different thing altogether. This sheer impunity of murdering innocent souls for just no cause is barbaric, brutal and utterly senseless.

The making of a "new" Boko Haram by Nigerian soldiers. The other day it is about attacking innocent civilians and burning of buses in lagos because one of their reckless traffic disobeying officer was knock down. I lived in zaria for almost 9years & i have witnessed el zakzaky followers crushed a lady who was a medical student with a.b.u.t.h tudun-wada zaria with a bus driven by his followers on a friday (1993) rite in frönt of d hospital. Her sin was, she wore a trouser. (ladies with trousers are always frowned at). Unfortunately she was a hausa lady from kano state (a case of trowing stones in a market). The shittes i know are bunch of killer & criminals who hide under the guise of religion to comit crime. El zakzaky is known to go about with assault riffle in his suv (i've seen him countless times). He was rusticated from abu zaria due to his religious fanatism & spent most of his years in detention during the militry. If he is not tamed now we mite be having another shekau in our hand. Am quite sure the shite boys fired the first shot.

This is how insurgency is birth. Then those Shiites are gonn start acquiring weapon to defend themselves and three months later they become another major wahala causing Mayhems on innocent Nigerians.
