Under the dynamic Leadership of President GoodLuck Jonathan Nigeria has virtually broken all previous jinx in Sports 1 . After 19 years of fruitless tournament we went to South Africa and came Back with the Nations cup 2. The under 17 world cup which we have won several times also came to were it belongs 3 . Blessing Okagbare gave us our first ever medal at an IAAF competition! Not even a wooden spoon was ever won by a Nigerian previously . After our dismal performance at the London Olympics an angry president Jonathan lunched an initiative to revive sports in Nigeria and today the fruits are evident, it started with an outstanding performance by our disabled athletes at the paralympics . Now back to the Glasgow 2014. 1. As at tonight Nigeria has 8 gold ,6 silver 11, bronze seating comfortably on the 8 position 2.Okagbare's 200 m gold makes her the 11th woman in history to win both 100m and 200m. 3. Ese Brume's Gold for Nigeria in the Women’s Long Jump gave Nigeria her first medal in 40 years in that event ! It Only gets better God bless Nigeria 1 Like
