Manu Garba Is The The Best Football Coach In Africa And The Caribbean ! by jamaicanoshu(m): 7:18pm On Aug 04, 2014
Some years ago, i watched a Camperdown High School athletics coach make a football team out of track and field sprinters. They went to the final of the national high school competition . They lost the championship by the slimmest of margins. These were guys that never played football before that summer. They were strictly runners or sprinters. Today we need more coaches that can think outside the box! One such coach is Manu Garba from Nigeria! Now most football coaches look at the players available to them;then they decide their style of play and formation. They try to fit their style of play to the type of players available. No! Not Manu Garba he decided he was going to play total football or technical football . Thus, he went out and searched for technical players to play technical football. In one daring move he would change African football for all times. African and Caribbean players were known as big, strong, fast and dumb or wild. Yes there were a few exceptions but generally most were Hoofball type of players.A team of skilled plays is a paradigm shift for Africa. Manu Garba changed all that by insisting on skill and speed rather than big and strong. This has been the number one factor that would hamper the transition of Nigerian players from eaglets to super eagles. Yes it was never the age factor;it was the skill factor.
Manu if you had led England's under 17 team to a championship in the same manner as the Eaglets, They would have offered you the head coaches job or a premiership post! You are the biggest secret in African football. Please come to Jamaica!

Manu Garba should not be rushed. He should do a good job with the U20 team at the World Youth Championship. Let us watch his philosophy of the game against more professional players and coaches.

He should be groomed to tale over Coach Keshi after the World Cup 2018.
