Okorocha Approves N36,000 Medical Bills Per Annum For Each Civil Servant In IMO by Douglasdale(m): 10:59am On Aug 07, 2014
In line with the Rescue Mission administration of the Imo state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha, especially in the area of welfare of civil servants, the state government has approved N36,000 per annum for the medical bills of the every civil servant in the state.
 
The state Governor who disclosed this during an interactive meeting with the civil servants/retired workers at Imo International conference Centre Owerri, made it clear that all the workers are entitled for the approved medical bills.
 
Governor Okorocha said that the state government has released fund for equipping the state secretariat with basic amenities such as computers and working tools; adding that the state government is working out modalities to provide buses before December in order to provide free transport for the workers in the state.
 
Governor Okorocha disclosed that the state government has concluded arrangements to pay school teachers who retired from 1990 to 2000 their gratuities; adding that state workers who retired from 1998 to 2005 will also be paid their gratuities.
He noted that the state government is set to pay bulk pension of 2 months every month to pensioners to enable the state government offset their 13 months outstanding arrears.
 
Owelle Okorocha expressed the determination of his administration to pay the families of those who lost their lives while waiting for their pensions and gratuities to be paid.
 
The governor disclosed that the state government will set up a special complain department for civil servants in the state to enable them channel their grievances to the appropriate quarters.
