President Goodluck Jonathan was reported to have refused to pick the repeated calls of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the State of Osun, Iyiola Omisore, after the declaration of the Saturday’s governorship poll.

The incumbent governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who was the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate at the election defeated Omisore with 394,684 votes to 292,747 votes, a wide margin of 101,937 votes.

Since his defeat, Omisore was reported to have started calling Mr President’s numbers, but the calls were being ignored.

A source close to Ife-born politician revealed that the president was apparently angry with Omisore because of his poor performance at the election.

The source stated that he had been reliably informed that despite the heavy presence of PDP leaders and Federal Government officials, the president was disappointed that they failed at the poll woefully.

According to him, the president said he invested so much in Osun election to secure victory for the PDP, with a view to giving him edge in the 2015 presidential election.

As at the time of filing this report, it was gathered that the PDP camp in Osun and South-West in general was jittery, as the Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan and Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro are afraid of losing their seats. They have started running helter skelter to seek presidential mercy, for them to be able to retain their seats.
