PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday, approved the appointment of Mr Danladi Kifasi, as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

The appointment follows the mandatory retirement of Alhaji Bukar Boni Aji, having attained 35 years in service.

Until his appointment, Kifasi was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, who briefed State House Correspondents after the regular meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by President Jonathan at the State House, Abuja, on Wednesday, said the president congratulated Aji , thanking him for the efforts he put into the improvement of the civil service.

Maku noted: “Aji was appointed Head of Service by Jonathan and since his appointment, he has served this nation with a lot of leadership. His appointment had impacted positively on the federal civil service.

“He has brought his leadership and capacity, his ability to network with other people in government to achieve the objectives and implementation of the transformation agenda.

“Mr President said he found him very competent, very knowledgeable and very committed to his work. The council moved a motion to formally congratulate him for attaining this height in service and also to thanked him for the good work he had done for the country.

“The president then announced a the immediate appointment of Mr Danladi Kefasi, who is presently the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources,” Maku added.

Also, the Federal Government has approved the redeployment of some Permanent Secretaries and issuing of portfolios to newly appointed permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.

Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Bukar Goni-Aji, conveying this a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, said the redeployment and deployment was approved by President Jonathan.

Those affected by the exercise are Mr Emodi Nebolisa, formerly of Ministry of Transport, now to move over to the State House, while Adelakun Yemi is redeployed from Common Services Office, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) to Ministry of Aviation.
