ONDO State Government has declared Friday August 15 and 22, 2014 as holidays. According to a statement by Information Commissioner, Kayode Akinmade, this is to enable public servants participate actively in the fresh voters registration being organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the collection of the newly introduced permanent voters card. Voters are expected to begin the exchange of their old temporary voters card for a permanent one on August 15-17 while registration of fresh voters will hold August 20-22. The government urged civil servants and the general public to take advantage of the holidays and ensure that they partake actively in the exercise by exchanging their temporary voter’s card for a permanent one and register if they have not done so.
