nduchucks: Cool.

But I bet Patience is boiling because of the proximity of madam Ministresss to her husband. Can't the ministress stay at least one human being awy from GEJ ?

But Jona is acting as if he never carried block on his head before in Bayelsa...na wa how life changes for the ordinary man.

That ADC guy fits Jona. He is huge, well built and muscular. He can cover the entire family with the big fists.

But by the way, does sister Pat have her own ADC or is it the same guy?

I dont envy the guy, he carries Jona's bible to church, purse containing small wallets such as ATM debit card and credit cards and sanitisers, he must even have the pin code for Oga sef. Anyway, what rank is he sef?

This is the beginning of good news in my beloved state. By 2020 akwa ibom will be an economic force to reckon with.

Oga biko how soon is soon?

My fear is that Akpabio may have a disagreement with his successor and this ibaka project will be stopped indefinitely since its a state govt project. We need this ibaka to work.

Meanwhile, I thought Bayelsa is building their own sea port too? How is that project?

grin

Ibaka deep seaport is not a state govt project it an IPP with the private investors owning 60%, federal govt 20% and state govt 20%. this is a huge project, Construction of Phase 1 alone is expected to cost $3bn. state govt cant afford to go it alone.

Akpabios dissagrement with his successor cant and wont stop the project, the land for the port has already been accquired and the certificate of occupancy handed over to Nigerian port authority, all the hydrological surveys for the deepseaport , design EPA etc has been concluded and the Etebi - Enwang road which will provide access road to the site is ongoing.

The fact that Ibaka deep seaport is ongoing does not mean other states cant build their own ports too. In my opinion every state that borders the water and has the resources to develop a port should do so just like airports has become mundane in the near future seaports in Nigeria will become mundane too there is no stopping that.

the idea of holding other states back is slowly dying in Nigeria courtesy of GEJ, bayelsa, lagos, ondo, ogun, delta, rivers, crossriver can have their own seaports alonside Ibaka seaport market forces should determine which one succeeds.

Jim Ovia is a smart guy, this petrochemical plant once completed will place him top on the list of the richest men in Nigeria. This is a huge investment this is the difference between a rich nigerian with clean money and those with looted funds, the looters invest outside the country and improve the economy of foreign land because they are trying to hide their loot. Clean bussines men like ovia, dangote, etc invest their money in the Nigerian Economy and provides jobs at home because they are not hiding anything.

Actually Nothing stops every other state from building their sea port but these in the long run will lead to under utilisation, redundancy and waste of funds an instance is the Ibadan,Akure and Illorin Airports built with Oil Money from the Niger Delta but which has turned in to large scale waste and misappropriation of vital funds, which in mine opinion the person that awarded the contract should be probed and jailed.

Ibaka Deep seaport is vital not only to the old Eastern Region but to the whole of Bight of Biafra including Cameroon, Equatorial guinea and Gabon.
It is too strategic and important the economic Live wire of the old East to be ignored , neglected and abandoned inspite of the dredging or River Niger and the plans of Abia state to link to the Atlantic through the Azumini River .

Nice images OP Good Job, Its funny to think that just 6yrs ago the president would not have been able to fly in to uyo because there was no airport there and Jim Ovia would have never contemplated a petro chemical plant in the state 6yrs ago, how fast things changes. Indeed Akwa Ibom and Nigeria have come a long way. Kudos to Mr President, Jim Ovia And the Amiable Gov. Akpabio Akwa Ibom Ado Ok!

Mr Jim Ovia can Fly into Uyo from his lagos base drive on the clean roads that CCECC is building to Ibeno check on his investment At ibeno and flyback to lagos all within A few Hours and can bring all manner of experts within and outside the country to his site with no encumbrances! Thats the Power of good infrastructures.
