There Is Nothing Like Freelancing...it Pays by cbrass(m): 8:46pm On Aug 16, 2014 |
Guys honestly it pays, am working for a company nw and its worst when the people you are working for know nothing about web programming, imagine they want you to code a whole site in a day and still pay you after the month a pay you will get just in a week of freelancing..smh All a freelancer needs is the contacts, honestly full time employment doesn't pay 1 Like |

You are just realising this fact. As a Nigerian I'll tell u: Keep your job.. Cos there are no jobs out there and not having a job means you won't really socialise. As a person I'll tell u: Keep your job so that u can interact and socialise with people. Work hard and build a start-up in secret while working. As godmode: Quit your job and be the god of your life, earn money per day not per month. Socialise and discover that reading, research .e.t.c will take you wherever you wish. You are only limited by your thoughts. 2 Likes |

MORNDEW: Freelancing is not only about writing, there is frelancing now in programming, especially web programming and graphics too, there are websites out there where you go to sell your self but you can start here in nairaland by taking parts in bids, advertise your self on social media platforms and the jobs will roll in but bottom line is , you must be very good and fast in what you want to freelance on |

The freelancer i knew, is now workg d nine to five. He was a badass web dev but competition increased and jobs were very infrequent and very spaced out. Collection was a pain. Afterall d negotiation and agreement he wud sometimes get a toss of 1/5th d amount . Think he's happy in his cush job though. (N1m+ /annually). Issue is you can't (or i've seen nobody) do freelance all ur wrkg life. You'll at som point hav to setup a going concern (employ staff etc) or find and cling onto a regular job. If u setup a company beware d risks (bigger meaner competitors cud wipe out ya market) and once d market looks the other way,ur history. Where i live, they were 3 independent eateries and snack shops, dotting d road, they were doing well, fast forward 4 years on, mr.Biggs came on , then anoda big name caterer. Shop1 is down-closed. You can guess, tht shop2 is on hurtg. |

I understand you very well, you can't keep freelancing for life, the pay maybe steady if you are employed but it never corresponds to the amount of time and energy you commit to the work in office, just want you to know that that company you applied to was also created by som1 like you and me |
