Earlier this year, prior to the spread of the much-dreaded ebola disease, there were circulations and headlines online of a pregnant woman who died whilst being dilevered of a baby.

The baby was said to have also died days after he was born (through operation) owing to his being a carrier of the ebola disease. The reports said he contracted the disease from his mother during pregnancy.

Unfortunately for the doctors and a nurse who had the session , they were said to have contracted the disease and was brought down from Abakaliki in Ebonyi state to 'Irrua Specialist Hospital' in Edo . That was the last we heard about them and none can tell if they eventually survived or succeded in spreading the disease.

If it wasn't a case of mis-diagnosis, I'm afraid the disease has eaten deeper into the Nigerian society than the Government wants us to believe.
