A female Nigerian doctor has died at the Ebola Emergency Treatment Centre in Lagos. A statement by Dan Nwomeh, the spokesperson for the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, said the doctor was one of the primary contacts of Nigeria’s index Ebola case. Mr. Nwomeh said the doctor, a consultant, was also the most senior doctor who participated in the management of the Liberian American, Patrick Sawyer. The death of the senior consultant brings the number of Ebola casualty in Nigeria to five with the index case inclusive.
