The World Bank has praised Ghana for what it calls the enviable growth of the country’s economy in terms of development over the past ten years.

According to the World Bank, Ghana’s significant growth is as a result of strong governance systems, increased productivity and the discovery of oil in recent years, ranking Ghana 67th on the world rankings.

This was disclosed at the opening ceremony of the first Global Public – Private Partnership (PPP) Conference here in Accra, under the theme: “Addressing Ghana’s Infrastructure Deficit: Moving from Policy to Implementation- the Public-Private Partnership Alternative."

Delivering a message on behalf of the World Bank, Country Director for Ghana Yusupha Crookes noted that the strides made by the country is one that needs to be recommended.

Mr. Crookes also assured that the World Bank is ready and willing to support Ghana’s PPP program to ensure targets and goals set under the program are achieved.

The three-day event is the first of its kind to be organized in the country by C – Nergy Global Holdings, an investment advisory services firm and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.

The conference is to create the platform for practitioners of PPPs to engage with investors and countries that have successfully implemented the PPPs.

It will also see delegates from Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia among other countries.

So, how are all these rants connected to Nigeria? Do you need Nigeria's permission to rule? If you don't, why are you posting Ghana's campaign for leadership in a Nigerian forum?

Right, "Enviable". So enviable that the World Bank's partner in crime (IMF) is about to give Ghana a bailout for the second time in 5 years. So enviable that the Cedi is currently the world's worst performing currency. So enviable that govt employees in Ghana are currently on strike after having not been paid for 3 months.
This man obviously has a cryptic sense of humour and is trolling Ghana. Of course knowing them and their toxic mix of European as5-kissing, inferiority complex, unsubstantiated ego and misplaced pride, they'll probably be daft enough to take him serious. As indeed one of them is doing on this very thread.

Quoted for emphasis.
@In house Ghanaman: I've told you before, we're not dragging anything with you. Lagos city alone surpasses all of Ghana economically, militarily and in terms of strategic importance and infrastructure. Again, we are not dragging anything with you. Go and face your country.

Really?? This must be a joke

IMF praising Ghana for enviable growth??

Which Ghana?? The one that is on the brink of near collapse?? The one who cannot pay its bills??

Maybe the IMF is just fulfilling its own part of the deal ... (Stick Ghana with death loans laden with astronomical interest rates and in return push out an outlandish press release to placate the president to help him calm the storm that is brewing at home in Accra)

@op keep deceiving yourself

****Edited
read the statement again and i found out that it was one obscure nobody from one local event that made these stupid comments...
I thought it was in Brussels (or wherever the IMF/World bank headquarters are stationed in) that these comments were uttered by Lagarde instead, it was one local country director..

though they dont have as much resources as Nigeria, I believe the the world bank should be right if they are comparing their growth with other developing countries with better economic advantages.
