In the words of Bernard Brecht, the worst illiterate is a political illiterate, he hears nothing sees nothing, and takes no part in political life. He doesn’t seem to know the cost of living, the price of beans, flour, rent, medicine, all depend on political decisions. He prides himself on political ignorance and says he hates politics. He doesn’t know; the slowpoke, that from his political non-participation comes the prostitute, the abandoned child, the robber and worst of all, corrupt politicians, lackeys of exploitative multinational corporations
In a bid to enhance a civil active political participation, seemingly redundant amongst the Nigerian youth, this monthly writing contest was introduced.
The essay would be just 200 words with a reward of 2000Naira worth of airtime of any network of choice to the winner of a month. The theme for this essay is basically politics and culture.
