Imo State is indeed beautiful !!! I expect a new government that would take Imo State to a greater height. Despite the short comings of Rochas administration we can see that some changes and improvements have been made in Imo State. His administration is better than Udenwa and Ohakim administrations. I want a new more dedicated and strategic thinking government to takeover Imo State from Rochas government come 2015 3 Likes

Plshavmercyamen: Hmm.. The way some pple talk when ever anything Rochas is mentioned is becoming very nauseating. Talking about jobs, don't you know that it is people that wil be seeing to the day to day administration and upkeep of that edifice? Have you thought about the biz opportunities and immense patronage the centre wil create with only NBA having their annual convention there with over 8,000 delegates in attendance? Have you thought about the opportunity the centre wil avail the state in bringing prospective investors who hitherto haven't been to the state to see the economic potentials and viability of the state when ever any international event is held there and hence invest in the state? Have u thought about the easthetic value and so many other things it brings to the state? Let us try for once to be objective in criticising Rochas. Mara kwanu na achu gide onye uwa ojo, achu ba ya na Uwa oma. Posterity wil judge! Ok chief economist so how many people are we talking about here ? |

Onyegecha: Imo State is highly blessed in raw materials but you seem trying to sell the falsehood to the world that Okorocha is the reason Imolites are not building enough factories or industries. Let me make it clear that before Okorocha Imo State had 3 dead major industries which is 1) Ada palm 2) Avutu industrial poultry and 3) Standard shoes Owerri. From 1999 till 2011 none of the governors succeeded in revamping these 3 state-owned industries but today Okorocha has made them functional. I think that will encourage some of us to come back home and invest. The hope of Imo ever industrialising lies in Orlu. They are the people that have the money and business acumen to effect industrialisation and commercialisation in Imo State. Okorocha knows this and that's why he's joining Orlu to Owerri with a dualised expressway. It will help in attracting more people to the potentials of Orlu and encourage Orlu millionaires to make use of Orlu's accessibility. The effects of Okorocha's idea will not be felt so quickly but will be gradual. Already 2 notable industries have opened in Imo State since 2012 and this includes AVM industries Naze and Eagle Motors Akabo. More are springing up in the Orlu area in addition to the older ones like Consolidated/Heineken brewery, Awo Omamma and Jacobs wine. |

abagoro:May God bless you Abgworo. Aka adighi ekpu chi onwa. And peeps seem to overlook the facilitation of massive modern market constructions completed and ongoing in Imo by Rochas. You must have a ready market before u start talking about industrialisation and factories(charity starts from home). N.B: I don't want to believe that Imolites play destructive politics cos we have never been known for that. We believe that "reward for good work is more work". Let posterity be the judge. |

RareDiamond: Imo State the beautiful Eastern Heartland is developing in leaps and bounds due to individuals, collective, institutional and government efforts. The new Imo International Conference Center have already started hosting five (5) star events and conferences like the Nigerian Bar Association annual Convention/Conference, Government and other Business events. Resplendent - that is, the new Imo International Conference Centre, Owerri. But when shall any single project completed by Gov. Okorocha in Okigwe and Orlu be? As for the Owerri-Orlu road being enlarged, so long as Orlu urban drainage system is not completed by channeling floods to the Ogidi valley - as planned by Imo ex-governor, Amadi Ikwechegh - you need to think of how long the Orlu section of the road shall last before being washed away by floods. 1 Like |

millionaireman: This is one of the reasons i want a person who will do far better than Gov Rochas to takeover Imo State Government in 2015. However, we can't denial that Gov Rochas has achieved and improved on somethings and policies in Imo State. For me, he is better than past governors like Udenwa and Ohakim. I don't see myself supporting Rochas in 2015 because of several reasons. |
Re: Pictures Of The New Imo International Conference Center and New Yam Festival by millionaireman: 7:52pm On Aug 23, 2014 |
RareDiamond: If Owerri judge Okrocha by his performance, Owerri is supposed to vote for Okorocha for second term if he decides to run. If Okorocha at least, commissions Orlu drainage works, stadium and opens a multi-faculty university campus in Orlu before elections 2015, he is going to win. These three projects are at the heart of most people in Orlu area - not roads. Imo cannot continue to have its eggs in one basket - one city state of Owerri. 3 Likes |

slimfit1: This does not count as development please so let us try to avoid unnecessary pleasants. Build factories andindustries Abi o! In 3-5 years this new building will be so shabby due to lack of MAINTENANCE. And this is due to INADEQUATE focus on the BASICS of education and absence of TAP water, both constitutional RESPONSIBILITIES of our CLUELESS governors. Ordinary FLUSHING of toilets will become such a major challenge without TAP water, talk less of hand-washing and cleaning the place Let us leave the condition of FEEDER/INNER roads for another thread/time 2 Likes |

millionaireman: I beg to disagree with you. None of the things you wrote above was done by the past administrations. Okorocha has rebuilt Orlu from the scratch and with very good and wide drainage system. None of the roads constructed by Okorocha in Orlu is water logged. The Umuna flood problem has been in existence for decades but Okorocha came and tackled it and it has been reduced though not completely solved. Flooding is a world bank project everywhere but Okorocha has tried. Even the Mgbee erosion which nearly cut off Ideato from the rest of Imo State was controlled without world bank assistance as a result of its urgency. If Okorocha or like mind rules Imo State for 6 years, Imo will be on another level. Already his ideas are paying off. |

Re: Pictures Of The New Imo International Conference Center and New Yam Festival by millionaireman: 9:33pm On Aug 23, 2014 |
Abagworo: According to Abagworo mindset, if past administrations in Imo state did none of the three things which I mentioned and which are of necessity in Orlu now, therefore Gov. Okorocha must not do them, abi? Flawed logic. Reminder: Orlu drainage project was started by former Imo governor, Amadi Ikwechegh, but was cancelled by Owerri as soon as Ikwechegh left office. Whenever it rains, all the roads in Orlu get water logged. In fact, uncompleted roads and mud from them are crippling activities in Orlu. Flooding is not a World Bank project anywhere. Owerri has the best drainage system in the southeast, they were done by IMSG, including Okorocha's. Without doing those three items stipulated above in Orlu area including the Ideators, an Owerri candidate is surely going to snatch victory from Okorocha in 2015 guber elections. Owerri zone wants the guber seat by all means. 7 Likes 1 Share |
