AT last, the governor of Ondo state Dr Olusegun Mimiko has decamped from the Labour Party (LP)to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Leaders of the LP and Chieftains of both parties confirmed to newsmen in Akure.
But his Information Commissioner Kayode Akinmade said that due to the ” serious Pressure” from the Leadership of the PDP before and after the Osun governorship election, the governor is still consuylting with stakeholders across the Country on this”
Akinmade said that ” for now the governor is still in Labour Party even if he will eventually move he cannot take a unilateral decision on this matter.
But another Commissioner in the cabinet Barrister Remi Olatubora of Adult Education Ministry was categorical about the governor movement to PDP when he said ” I woke up this morning as a LP chieftain but going to bed tonight as a PDP chieftain.

The news is yet to be fully confirmed tho, but he has always been in PDP...He has represented their interest in Ondo state since he started havin issues with Tinubu and the supposed ACN now APC SouthWest agenda shortly after becomin Governor. Jst an ordinary change of Nomenclature.
unfortunately for the PDP guys, himself and his LP allies will now take over the PDP structure from them. A structure they av bin struggling to rebuild since Agagu left office.

Determined to serve his state and country at a higher level, on November 7, 2002 Dr. Mimiko resigned his appointment as Ondo State Commissioner for Health, and on November 19, a fortnight later, he joined the gubernatorial race on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD). He lost and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). After PDP’s election victory in 2003, he was appointed Secretary to the State Government.
He later joined the Labour Party (LP) under which platform he ran for Governor and won the April 2007 election. But because of the electoral dispute that attended that election, he could not take office until two years later and as such, governorship election is not due in Ondo State until 2012.
