Thanks to all of you that participated in Chicitadel pre essay competition poll, within the two weeks of voting four options were listed as “MAJOR FACTOR MILITATING AGAINST THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION IN AFRICA”. A total of 235 votes were casted as shown below:

* Education fails in Africa because of lack of interest to learn by students. Votes: 44 (18.7%)
* Education fails in Africa because of underfunding by government agencies. Votes: 50 (21.3%)
* Education fails in Africa because of integration of western culture. Votes: 63 (26.8%)
* Education fails in Africa because of poor infrastructural maintenance in established institutions. Votes: 78 (33.2%)

From the above the last option “EDUCATION FAILS IN AFRICA BECAUSE OF POOR INFRASTRUCTURAL MAINTENANCE IN ESTABLISHED INSTITUTIONS” is the most voted option hence is the topic of the essay.
