Mehn I am about reading a project report on this topic, face recognition. Mehn is there anything new to develop again, its like all has been done.

Of course mate, you can create a better FR app and as regards new apps, just use your imagination!

I am whao!-ed by this project. But this is just a GUI. Can u share with us the algorithm and/or library you are using for image processing. I would love to follow this project.

Apart from the written algorithm, I had to develop plugs in Delphi, also plugs for the histogram and then converted the processes from the images into constants for further comparison

^^^a programmer can share the EXE, or even the screenshot, but the algorithm is another thing [guess that is what makes the difference]. I can create a free app and allow everyone download it for free, but the algorithm i use i no fit share am #programming#madness

How can a program just recognize face like that? that one no be programming again, na oyinbo magic im be.

yeah mate - face recognition isnt in d domain of heuristc programming.
This is computer science in its goriness. Gloves off. Knuckle dusters on.

I like this alot but what programming language did u use? Is this more like a desktop (laptop) app than a web app? Ive been working on an image recognition program for auto tagging pictures/photos when taken but Ive been using JavaScript & PHP for face & object recognition within the images. It works but when creating classifiers, it takes a whole bunch of time. People recommend me using Java or C/C++ with OpenCV, but since my web hosting is shared, I can't install these libraries to my server.

My object recognition is similar but when creating a classifier for each object (like an apple or a banana or a pencil), it takes a long time and becomes hard.

What is all this your big big grammer? which one is "heuristc programming"? is that another programming language?
and what is "goriness" about detecting faces? facebook does it now? so i now it is possible just that i am yet to have need of it.

Laughs..and yep mate, without a clothe of pride, my knowledge of programming can be traced back to my friend in the UK, MIT courses, the Russians and God(greatest programmer), but don't mistake me for any other person, cos I love my black ass..laughs!

if its for android apps, you can use this api http://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/FaceDetector.Face.html . Use google too, you would find numerous codes or explanation on the topic.
