But those who are afraid of losing the million dollar contracts he gave them want to force him to contest. The Amnesty programme is scheduled to end in 2015, but those misappropriating the millions of dollars in allocations want the scheme to continue for the perpetuation of their political scams.
The states in the Niger Delta have laudable development programmes that the Amnesty programme is no longer necessary. It is not only militants who need such benefits that should be given to everyone in Nigeria without terrorism.
