Nigerian Airforce Is One Of The Strongest In Africa by Philipmems(m): 10:25am On Sep 02, 2014
I have always believed that our airforce is one of the deadliest in Africa, when you see our air force men during their display at parades you will say no nation in africa can compare its air power to that of Nigeria, men looking so gallant and fitted in white uniforms/ attire, shoulders high, hands slaute posture, all flying gear, state of the art pressure body suit and helmet, looking like freshly made food from Chinese restaurants. Hmmmm...
Then Bokoharam came and exposed what we have been hiding , complete decadence in the administration of our military, generals with big Tommy's, slow and reactive, never proactive...
Every year budgets running into billions spent on security and the air force has a chunk in the budget to acquire state of the art military gadgets for modern war fare, training for officers/pilots on how to improve on engagements in battle, communication strategies to avoid friendly confrontations....
Were did they go wrong?
Bokoharam and Nigerian soldiers are in battle, our ever gallant military men are the best in the world and I mean it, cry cry to those fighting we love you and pray for you to those who have gone cry cry your names will never be forgotten cry cry hmmmm...getting emotional already... cry fathers, brothers, friends, wives, families, kids.... The difference is motivation, bokoharam boys are motivate with promises of money, wives, slaves, caliphate, at the end of every battle they have meals waiting for them, uncountable artillery of any sort, just go and unleash terror that's the order, so they fight with passion and most time come out victorious because they don't have anything to lose. Oh gallant heroes of yet unsang glory, men in green, brave warriors, aibebe dike na aya, my mouth will never seize to sing your praise brave ones who even with all the odds, administrative malfunction, strategy/strategic blunder remain resilient to the enemies.
ISIS were gaining grounds in iraq and Syria same as BH in nigeria... But when the US planes entered the skys the equation changed for the worse on them, those who were on the offence became defenders and losing grounds fast.
Nigerian Airforce were are thou, were are all the display planes in your parade, the ones in the hangers that you repair/service every year what's wrong with them, handsome gallant fighters on wonderful fighting state of the art suit in parade grounds, yes we heard some of you are in the skies but its occasionally... when there is an attack on any area you have to pick these terrorists heavy artilleries out from the sky you have bombs for different purpose to minimise causality on civilian population.
Please we are pleading, our wonderful men on green need your attention even more to turn this battle on its head again. We heard You recently acquired 12 flying hardwares (kangaroo approach)if they are new models who will fly them ( foreigners) well no problem but you have failed in your duty the administrators a man house cannot be on fire and he goes to search for where he can buy a fire extinguisher. We love you no doubt but please man-up to your responsiblilty as our men on white.
The writeup is dedicated to my brother Col. Frank O. Still in battle front in Borno state, still in good spirit and to all the wonderful ground soldiers sacrificing their lives all day everyday... cry and to those that have gone to meet their maker we love you.
Thank you.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Most of the casualties the army is recording would have been avoided only if the air force entered this war with their A- game.

I hope those birds are here to truly put BH on the retreat and vanquished for good.

For America to use just air power to turn the tide against ISIS despite their superior ordinances compared to the Kurdish army shows how needed the airforce is to our quest to destroy our common enemy.
