A substantial
number of countries are facing the problem of excessive rainfall every year
but there are a few places that are dry throughout the year. The people
in these places understand the importance of water the most since they
are deprived of it by the nature. Such places include the likes of locations
where there is no rainfall whatsoever the whole year.
You can only see such places in horror movies. Living in such places is no
less than a challenge since water is the sole necessity of life. However,
there are many people who travel to these places to get the insight of
living in a dry weather.



1. Dry Valleys, Antarctica:
Dry Valleys, Antarctica
This is a surprising entry in our list but the dry valley in Antarctica is
considered to be one of the driest places on Earth. It is ice-free and also
water free in that case. There is simply no rainfall all round the year at
this place and humidity doesn’t exist here.


2. Atacama Desert, Chile:
Atacama Desert, Chile
This place is located in South America. From the 16th century to the 20th
century, this place did not receive any rainfall whatsoever. The region is
extremely arid and hence the mountains there are totally free of glaciers.

Located in Egypt, Aswan is one of the driest places on Earth. The climate
at this place is hot and dry all year long. Every five years, the rainfall
recorded is 1 to 2 mm. This is a shocking fact and also that the annual
rainfall at this place is measured to be 0.861 mm. This city remains to
be a favored tourist destination though, thanks to the existence of Nile
River.

It is another city in Egypt that claims almost zero rainfall in its area. It
is densely populated with tourists though and receives a rainfall
between 0 to 6.0 mm per month. This makes the annual rainfall to be
measured at 0.862mm a year.



5. Ica, Peru:

Ica is situated 300 Km from the city of Lima. It stretches through the
desert coast of Southern Peru. The rainfall in this place is 2.29 mm per
year. The climate is very dry and there is no hint of humidity in the
area. It is also at the epicenter of Tourism in the current times. Ica is
certainly one of the driest places on Earth.




6. Wadi Halfa, Sudan:
Wadi Halfa, Sudan
It is located on the shore of Lake Nasser. The place is equipped with the
Nubian Desert and also possesses the eastern edge of Sahara. The
population of the town is 15,000 in total. There is a very low rainfall in
this region which accounts for 2.45mm. Wadi Halfa is undoubtedly one
of the driest places on Earth.

Chile has another town that is known for being very dry and it is
Iquique. It receives rainfall that accounts to 5.08mm per year. The rain
arrive the city around the months of January and February. It is marked
with the abundance of beaches.

Pelican Point, Namibia
There are an ample of surfing spots at this place. It is located in
Namibia and serves as a perfect beach surfing spot but it simply does
not receive enough rainfall to meet the common needs of water in the
place. It receives a rainfall of 8.13mm every year. The tourism industry
receives great revenue based on the craze among the tourists regarding
the beach spots in the place.

Aoulef is situated in Algeria. The country is popular for having arid
climatic conditions. Aoulef is covered with deserts all around. The palm
trees are a relief for the tourists to prevent them from burning heat. It is
certainly one of the driest places on Earth.


10. Callao, Peru:
Callao, Peru
Callao is also known by the name El Callao and it is one of the most
important ports of Peru. It has various islands in close proximity but the
rainfall that is registered in the area is 12.192 mm each year which is
too low as per the standards.
