Will the ravaging Ebola scourge also kill Nigerians the same way Boko Haram is doing without any protection from the Nigerian government? Now, government has asked schools to reopen on 22nd September, with Ebola threat still very high in PH and Lagos and our doctors and nurses running for dear lives at the sight and mere mention of Ebola. Consider what one case of Ebola infection will do to a school population. Our govts should readjust their thinking to align with the NMA's position statement on this matter that reopening of schools on 22/9/2014 should be shifted backwards to allow good time, at least 21 days, for the containment of this deadly scourge. Isn't this sound logic different from the others which were commercial considerations? Here, protection of lives and property, not promotion and protection of commercial interests of school proprietors, should be paramount. .
