An internet forum can be an avenue to socialise, discuss, reveal and discover very scare or concealed facts beyond our imagination. You meet folks from all places with varying takes on subjects. Your identity is secure and you have everything to gain but nothing to lose. Being regular on this forum, how much benefit can you boast of deriving?

To maximize our benefit from the forum, there has to be freedom of speech. Is this permitted to a remarkable extent here?

Speaking from my experience in Islam Section, when you think of a forum where educated, critical and open minded folks can register to discuss, criticise, debate or question, Nairaland doesn't come to mind. Again, this is based on the victimization and double standard that i have suffered in that section for no other reason than my regular criticism of orthodox Islamic teachings.

Of course, Islam section isn't the only section in nairaland but it stand to reason that if any wrong is tolerated in one section, other section will follow suit over time.

It is a mass blunder to have created a full section for muslims while adherents of other faiths have to squeeze into one section. As a consequence, Islam section has become a camp where only one sect or interpretation of Islam is favoured at the detriment of others, gloating is supported and a honest condemnation of any "Islamic" doctrine is prohibited and penalised, thanks to extremists.

This bring us to the point of this thread. Seun Osewa must understand that there is need to further moderate Nairaland and emphasis should be on moderating the Mods. The Mods make or marr the forum.

But Nairaland have a poor rating on moderators. I am witness to this. Without violating any posting term, i 've been victimized by poor moderating in Islam section. There are several incidents but i 'll list three.

1.
Early February, i opened a thread:
Why Zionist Enemies Of Islam Love Hadith And Sunnah Than Sunnis And Shiites.

There i presented radical, hate, aggressive and misorgynistic teachings detailed in Orthodox Islamic oral traditions; explaining that Zionists cash on these teachings as justification for Islamophobia, warmongering and genocide against muslims as the Palestinians are suffering. Despite being an attempt to get muslims re evaluate their books of oral traditions, the mod hid the topic 2 days later, accusing me of posting their oral traditions off context.

From the Quran exegesis of one of the most revered orthodox muslim scholars, i once posted, exposing extracts of violent teachings that legalizes fighting non-muslims untill they embrace Islam. As typical, the mods would have my post hidden and banned me for a full month, making the same silly accusation that i posted off context or incomplete information even though i left a link to the source in my post.

Recently, there arose a question; Is ISIS Islamic?

In response, i simply recommended reading through Orthodox Islamic Quran exegesis and Oral traditions for the asker. Of course, i was only recommending the main sources of mainstream Islamic teachings for the asker. But, as if some skeletons in the cupboard were about to be exposed, the moderator hid my post.

At that point, it occurred to me that some persons have something to hide. I mean, why else would my post be deleted when i simply asked those seeking if ISIS ideology is "Islamic" to confirm from mainstream Islamic sources of teachings? There and then it all clarified. The demand for a separate section for Muslims was never really due to frequent cursing and insulting of Islam/Muslims by sentimentalists, was it?

It was borne out of intolerance and a desire by the extremists for full power to protect their reputation by prohibiting and weeding out any attempt to criticize, refute or expose unholy "Islamic" teachings. Their counterparts on Yahoo! Answers did the same in the past. That is why there is a special section(Ramadan) exclusive to only them while adherents of more than 4 different faiths have to manage one section.

Eventually, i grasp why i have been at the recieving end several times in Islam section. Because, i often criticize orthodox Islam, expose the straw man, the apologists and window dressers using nothing but the Quran itself.

My opponents have their differences over which they could clash, but they are all united in disheveling & victimizing me to shut me for good.

The 21 terms for posting on this forum are perfect. But to enjoy maximum equity, the Admin ought to pick his mods wisely. This isn't Sunni forum where Sharia rules, and Muslims have the final say. This is a secular forum, where no religion is favoured over the other. Mods are to be secular, diplomatic and capable of co-ordinating via the rules without succumbing to sentiments or religious bigotry.

Send a mail to the supermods. They will attend to your situation swiftly. They are very good at dealing with such grievances.
