If you read well to the meaning of the verses of the holy quran you pin point you will see that Allah do not categorically say its belongs to this particular set but only told moses to enter and seek refuge after escaping from pharaoh. It was all about entering through the gate and live peacefully with them where some refuses that they wnt enter if those inside do not leave, what can you bring out from that? so please there was no clear cut statement about who owns the land and that was wat led to there 40years wandering round d desert. If Allah do not categorically state something then thats how Allah wants it to be. I pray Allah forgive me if av made any mistake and also pray for Allah to grant u a better understanding of it words as the quran will remain the way it was written for life.

first of all, the Qur'an doesn't recognize Jews as a religious group. the Quran in other words doesn't recognie Judaism as a religion.

the Holy Qur'an reads:

"religion to Allah is Islam"..."and whoever seeks a religion other than Islam shall be amongst the losers".

secondly, lands belong to people and not to religions. it is people that choose what religion to follow. the land was given to the "children of israel" to worship Allah (swt). we read also in the Holy Quran: "Abraham was neither a Jew, Christian or Pagan, but was a monotheist, a Muslim". so the religion of the children of Israel was Islam (submission to the will of Allah). or from a neutral, non-Muslim view, they did not have an institutionalized religion back then. Judaism was a later invention to identify with the set of beliefs and practices that the people who lived in Judea lived by. like i have mentioned, lands belong to people, not to religions. imagine voodoo worshipers in haiti returning to Nigeria and asking Nigerians who identify themselves as Christians and Muslims today to leave because Nigeria was once a land for traditional religion!

thirdly, who says the Palestinians do not have israelite decent? there are Palestinians with Israelite lineage/decent/heritage. through conquests and invasions of Palestine, the people overwhelmingly convert to Islam and became an arabic speaking people through assimilation/arabicization, and through intermarriage. being that the arabian conquest was the last and left the most impact through the policy of embracing local populations (assimilation), the people of palestine ended up being arabic speaking.
