Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets lost 2-1 to Gabon on Sunday in a final qualifier for the 2015 African Junior Championship. The match was delayed by a day after the Nigerians were held back in Lome, Togo, on the orders of Gabonese authorities. Victor Osimhen opened scoring for the Eaglets, before the home team drew level before the interval. Gabon then grabbed the winner in the second half. The return leg is slated for Nigeria in a fortnight with the overall winners of this match-up marching on to the Junior Championship to be staged in Niger in February. Nigeria are the defending world champions.
