are u planning on getting into the IT line too?....if yes, u gotta learn a lot on ur own. I chose to develop myself as a systems engineer and got computer networking skills over months on YouTube. ..one guy that helped my career a lot is eli the computer guy...his videos helped a lot. I need to add too that I spent some money too in buying a netgear router, 2 d link 8 and 24 port switches cos watching Youtube alone without getting ur hands dirty isnt gonna work.
tho I av a cram and pass ccna I got years ago, self development via Youtube gave me the requisite knowledge and experience to stand my ground in interviews. truth is in a practical field like IT, u can become an employable guru by self tutoring using Internet as the medium of knowledge right in ur bedroom.

ure welcome bro...well, professional certifications are good. atleast in saner climes (outside Nigeria or perhaps Africa) they prove to employers that u av some knowledge of the field you've chosen and need just some refining thru experience to become an expert. But this is Nigeria where no one wants an employee who has certifications and still needs to be taught everything from scratch. If u av learnt a lot on your own, a certification would be a plus but if u av all certifications and not good at their application then staying home would be a full time job. The cost of certifications too makes one know that it's meant for people with the knowledge who've worked a little and just want them to add feathers to their professional caps. some certifications in the IT line 'expire' and need refreshers to be up to date, an unemployed dude chasing them and not the knowledge(which is free online) isn't ever going to get his money's worth.

I wonder who certifies the certifiers tho.......
