Good mornin my auto gurus , seriously hailing my auto messiahs on dis forum! Here we go , my 1999 VW Sharan VR6 is seriously hesitating ,thought it was a misfire, I changed all d plugs bt d problem still persisted , nw it has gotten so bad dat d car doesn't even accelerated wen u depress d acceleration pad until like 15secs. Mind u it also has a rough idle , so I returned her to my mechanic and he diagnosed her and d man told me dat d plug NO.2 didn't bring lite/fire ,dat only 5 plugs were workin , nt dat d plug is bad bt He said d resistor is bad dat it didn't supply d plug lite/fire! Pls wht do I do b4 am been scammed ?

Go back and run another scan. A fault code (s) would be given to you. Post them here. Then we take it up from there

Why don't you guys make things easier for those who may be able to assist you, by having your vehicles scanned, then posting the results HERE??

Most vehicles have had an OBD port since 1992, yet most don't use them.

Your car sounds like it has a misfire on cylinder #2, either due to a bad plug, coil pack or injector. It could even be a blown head gasket.

My advice? Take your Sharan to a shop that knows what they're doing, and let them run a scan, and carry out a compression test on ALL cylinders.

Pls, is it advisable to purchase a 6-plug VW Sharan, I notice the 4-plug versions are more common. The mechanics I'm consulting recommend against the 6-plug version

Good afternoon, I want convert my Sharan engine. Which should I put 1.8 or 2.0?
Re: VW Sharan VR6 Engine Issue by EngRichie: 1:19pm On Nov 20, 2020
Consider 2.0L since it is normally aspirated (no turbo).

1.8 With turbo charge

Not exactly. The naturally aspirated one was adviced by me because of more reliability and maintainability.
