Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly moved a motion yesterday September 24th asking the state Governor, Babatunde Fashola to rename the Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH, where Ebola disease patients were recently treated, after Doctor Stella Adadevoh.
The motion for her to be immortalized was moved by Hon Adefunmilayo Tejuoso and seconded by Hon Muyiwa Jimoh. The lawmakers said Dr. Adadevoh's act of stopping Sawyer from leaving the First Consultant hospital after she found out he was infected with the deadly virus, saved many lives.The Speaker of the House of Assembly,Adeyemi Ikuforiji directed the clerk of the House, Segun Abiru to communicate the decision to the state Governor. If approved by the Governor,the hospital will be known as the Stella Adadevoh Infectious Disease Hospital.

Good idea. Speaking generally, we as a country should develop the habit of rewarding those who do good deeds for the country so that others can be encouraged to do the same.

The reason why people hesitate to go the extra mile for the country is because we've not learnt to appreciate ourselves.

We often hear people say
'I no fit die for this country'
Why? Because those who made sacrifices in the past seem to have done so in vain. We even mock their sacrifice sometimes and call it foolishness because it went unappreciated.
A good deed deserves a befitting commendation.

Honouring her is good, at least to commend her eforts. But it wuld seem unfair to d families of d oda deceased. So dey shuld honour dem all; each ward shuld be named after sombody, all d pple dat partook in dat battle to curtail ebola , both d living & d dead.

Fashola should sign the bill already. Her heroism was sterling and first class. RIP Dr.
