Ogun Govt.set To Construct #200billion Mega City - Amosun by haffaze777(m): 7:19am On Sep 27, 2014 |
Abeokuta – Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun on Friday said the state government had concluded plans to construct a mega city that would gulp over N200 billion in the state. Amosun made this known in Ewekoro area of Ewekoro Local Government in continuation of his local government assessment tour. The governor said that the mega city would cut across Obafemi Owode, Ifo and Ewekoro Local Government Areas. He said his ambition was to develop the state and exploit all the resources the state was blessed with for the benefit of the people. The governor disclosed that when completed, the mega city would be the best in Nigeria and in Africa. He added that the Presidency had approved the construction of the abandoned airport at Alamala area of the state. Amosun said it had been his agenda to complete the airport since his first day in office, saying it was not a crime for Lagos State to have an airport and Ogun having its own. He said that work on perimetre fencing was ongoing at the proposed site of the airport, adding that serious work would start very soon. The governor said that the airport would be of international standard, bigger and better than the proposed cargo airport and Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. Amosun promised the people that he would construct Owo to Pere road and Itori township road in the local government. The governor, who promised that Ewekoro council would experience more industrial presence, assured the area of more roads. He, however, advised the people to be law abiding and avoid being used by politicians to perpetrate evil. (NAN) 1 Like |

Impressive plans from a Governor who has delivered a lot already. With four more years, and the delivery of the Ogun State light rail network, I see Amosun turning Ogun into a great State to live and work in. 4 Likes |

gbawe i can't believe u fell for this cheap scam. 200billion is not one naira. Even lagos would struggle to complete any project worth 200billion. How much is the total budget of ogun state. Then subtract recurrent expenditures. The capital expenditure is not up to 100b. This amosun is a daydreamer and gbawe is supporting anything apc both good or bad. That's what they all do: sign huge contracts just before leaving office so that they can put gbese for the coming administration. And if they get re-elected, they don't go back to look in those huge contracts o Wonder why they don't think of such projects until they come to the end of their tenure 2 Likes |

Gbawe the sinsere9gerian of apcWhen you read pls try to comprehend and understand the message before forming your opinion. Firstly, the project is a laudable one that will benefit the government and people of Ogun State. Considering the proximity of Ogun to Lagos State and the fact that many lagos residents are moving to Ogun State to live- in Ifo and Obafemi Owode LGAs, such project will also attract industrialization to the state. The project is not said to be completed in one year nor one term, he even won't complete it in his second term, but he will make considerable progress. Like Fashola, we hope the person that wl takeover in 2019 continue with the megacity project of ogun stata. 3 Likes |

SLIDEwaxie: There's no need to explain anything to these dimwits... Thank you !!! This is why I said absolutely nothing to the "dimwits" even as some of their comments were directed at me. Amosun has been delivering superlatively so far, more so than probably 80% of Governors in Nigeria, and that is what normal and objective folks base their thinking and talk on. Not mindless negativity which is entirely ignorant of and dishonest to the reality on the ground. |

barcanista: When you read pls try to comprehend and understand the message before forming your opinion. Don't bother with those 'bad belle' clowns. If we are to honestly name 5 Nigerian governors performing the most and delivering superlative infrastructural development, increasing IGR aggressively, industrialising Nigerian States and attracting FDI then Amosun will be included in that list close to the top. He is one of the few who has earned the right to talk and be taken seriously by all Nigerians who love progress and are able to put sectional bias aside. |

haffaze777: Abeokuta – Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun on Friday Ogun state (my state) have slept for far too long. Thank God things are changing. There is absolutely no reason for Ogun state to be where she is today giving the close proximity to Lagos. Good to know that the state now have a government that is putting things in place. My main hope and prayer for Ogun is to finally erase the state boundary line between herself and Lagos so she can absorb/attract many companies & institutions to herself and eventually get out of the league of civil service states. This will also be beneficial to Lagos in terms of congestion and over population. |
