Its both his and the hospitals fault. His for not being prudent to quarantine himself before showing any signs of symptoms and getting his "family" out of the apartment. Then the hospital's for not having their "light bulbs" turned on to react quickly to the situation.
At least the other doctor a few months back quarantined himself and made proper arrangements. So I wouldn't be to quick to judge on the conditions. I am going out on a limb here and assuming just like in most media releases we are seeing photos mainly from areas that are in poverty(more so than average). 8 • Reply•Share › Avatar Christopher Haslett smittah • an hour ago 98% of Liberia is in poverty. 9 • Reply•Share › Avatar smittah Christopher Haslett • 33 minutes ago amazing that there is such a minimal spread so far. 1 • Reply•Share › Avatar 5MT1L4 smittah • 35 minutes ago number of doctors in liberia: 122 population of liberia: 4.3 million population/doctors: 35246
number of doctors in los angeles county : 27500 population of los angeles county: 10 million population/doctors: 364
35246 people rely on a single doctor. not to mention that they must be all in large cities, so there must be remote areas where millions of people simply don't have access to a doctor at all, so they can only see one when they have something very serious and they saved up enough money to pay someone to drive them to the city where hopefully one of those 122 doctors that need to deal with 4.3 million other people have time to see them. and given the fact that people live in poverty and misery, it increases the number of health problems, which means they need healthcare even more than those of us that are lucky enough to be living comfortably in first world countries.
so yeah, i am going out on a limb here and assume that people in liberia don't have very good access to healthcare and that it's not just the news channels exaggerating in order to try to trick you into being sad for them 9 • Reply•Share › Avatar Cherianne Barry Rogers • 39 minutes ago NO..the responsibility lies with this Liberian man who knew he was exposed to ebola yet hopped a plane and flew to the US. This woman he was staying with also knew it and allowed him in. I have no sympathy for either of them and he should have to pay back every red cent of his medical expenses prior to having his visa permanently revoked. I mean...who do you think is paying for all this....the taxpayers, of course. This woman is probably not even a citizen either. These people from all over the world coming to the US are killing us, possibly literally now. 14 • Reply•Share › Avatar dreumel Barry Rogers • an hour ago I disagree, although the hospital did show incompetence it is also because they were in denial that Ebola could possibly be the problem. However i believe the responsibility falls mainly on our government that refuses to act on not only this disease infiltrating our country but refusing to keep our country free from invaders such as potential illegal immigrants turning out to be terrorist as well as delivering infectious diseases in to our country so easily. Blame our own government for endangering the American people. 11 • Reply•Share › Avatar usisgreat Barry Rogers • 22 minutes ago Responsibility lies with this man not the Hospital he should be prosecuted for attempted mass murder. 5 • Reply•Share › Avatar Pale Horse bubba • 3 hours ago The airlines should be charged as well then since this guy was only trying to save his own neck where as the airlines are putting us all in danger only because of pure greed. 26 • Reply•Share › Avatar Emily Jesse Pale Horse • 3 hours ago Airlines are not responsible. They are told it is safe to fly there. The TSA, CDC, FAA, & State Department are all approving authorities on this and ENCOURAGE flights to the region. http://edition.cnn.com/2014/10/03/health/ebola-us/index.html?hpt=hp_t3 1 Like 1 Share |
